The Writhing Limb is a Material in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
Description[]
The Seamas fought throughout the starting zone of Galleon Minerva drop Writhing Limbs at a rather high 12% base rate, meaning you will get a large stockpile of them if you repeatedly farm Seamas for their Cerulean Splash shard. Once you reach Arvantville and unlock the ability to enhance shards with materials, you can devote six Writhing Limbs into ranks for Cerulean Splash, which will cause the bouncing projectile to last longer. At the same time, you can spend three Writhing Limbs to raise the rank of Vepar's Thrashing Tentacle shard to Rank 4, adding an extra tentacle to the screen-clearing attack.
The only other use of a Writhing Limb is to combine one with a Cotton (like what is commonly found in the blue chests throughout Galleon Minerva) to create a Pirate Hat, which offers a useful +2 LCK boost to start your exploration of the castle with.

Only one enemy drops Writhing Limbs: the Seama, who have a 12.00% chance to drop it on defeat. They are solely found in the Galleon Minerva; two infinitely spawn on the deck of the ship.
Usage[]
Like almost all materials, Writhing Limbs are only useful for crafting via Johannes' Alchemy menu in Arvantville.
It can craft the following item:
- Pirate Hat (×1 Writhing Limb, ×1 Cotton)
Writhing Limbs are also required for enchanting the following Shards:
- Thrashing Tentacle Ranks 2, 3, 4 (×1 Writhing Limb)
- Cerulean Splash Ranks 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 (×1 Writhing Limb)
It takes at least 10 Writhing Limbs to craft and enhance everything in the game, with all ten being base ingredients.
