The Wood of Sacrifice is a location in Classic II: Dominique's Curse. It is a forested area that connects the Lethe Cavern to the town of Almadel and the Avernus Grove, the latter during the Dead Moon only.
Overview[]
From the exit of the damp Lethe Cavern, the Wood of Sacrifice begins as a typical forest with thorns that will damage Dominique if she falls into them.
The area continues with a fork in the road between a pool of water and a staircase that leads downward. The water pool is a shorter path but requires the Deep Sinker to traverse. A wall above the pool's approximate midpoint can be shattered with the Block Breaker to reveal a cake that replenishes HP. The staircase leads to a forest path where Dominique must cross some bottomless pits.
Both ways ultimately converge on the way to Almadel. In the lower section of the Wood of Sacrifice (below the initial staircase), however, there is another path to the left. It is blocked by thick foliage during the New Moon, but during the Dead Moon, it is open and leads to the isolated Avernus Grove, where an especially powerful Silver Wolfman must be defeated to find the Summon Circle skill. This skill is necessary to continue the adventure later on.
During the New Moon, the enemies in this area include fast-moving Mortes, Scythe Mites, Deeseamas (in the pool of water), Carabosses, and a Cannon Morte. The Dead Moon removes the Scythe Mites but adds regular Silver Wolfmen.
