Whips are a class of weapons in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
Description[]
Whips are medium-to-long ranged, flexible weapons that in all instances deal Strike damage. When struck, the whip lashes in a forward and downward direction, tracing a sort of an inclined "8" shape. Due to this, it is required some skill in its usage by the player in order to efficiently use them, often requiring them to constantly jump when attacking to make the whip make contact with the enemy. A peculiarity about this type of weapon is that it can also deal damage behind the player character, covering behind and slightly above the head as they use their arm to lash the whip.
Whips aren't very common weapons in the game, counting with only nine variants overall, some being elemental-based. Their trademark Technique is the Critical Swing.

Trivia[]
- The inclusion of Whips as weapons in the game is possibly a reference to the Whips from the Castlevania franchise, which are the main weapons used by the Belmonts, the main protagonists of the series.
