The Whip is a Whip in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.

Description

The Whip is the first available weapon that uses the "whip lash" attack motion, which is slightly delayed but hits a fairly large area in front of Miriam. Its Strike attribute is strong against plated enemies like Dullahammer but tends to be weak against "fleshy" enemies. It is found in a chest that lies along your route through the starting zone, Galleon Minerva, and its 13 base ATK is only slightly higher than the 12-ATK Short Sword — and lower than the even slower, 17-ATK Claymore, both weapons that can be found in chests before reaching the chest with the Whip. On the other hand, while both of those bladed weapons use the more general-purpose "anti-flesh" Slash attribute, the Whip can be seen as a successor to the Strike-based Kung Fu Shoes given at the very start of the game, featuring 5 more ATK than the 8 ATK of the shoes.

The next whip-style weapon, the 20-ATK Thorn Whip, can be earned by cooking a Rice Ball and submitting it to Susie Quinn for her first quest. This can be prepared as soon as the hub at Arvantville is established because the Rice needed to cook it can be gotten by submitting a Tunic to Lindsay Blair for her respective first quest. It otherwise takes a fair amount of materials dropped by the early enemies in the Entrance zone to craft.

Late in the game, the Lamashtu enemy can drop the Whip Expertise passive shard, which adds ATK points as you gather grades of it and improves whip-style weapons' attack speeds as you enhance its Rank. A total of three Whips are used as materials to rank the shard up to Rank 4. By that point, money should come by a lot easier, so you can buy a couple extra Whips for 600G each. Alternatively, since you will both have a lot more LCK and likely one or both Plunderer's Rings, it should be very simple to gather Houndskin and Cotton from the early Gieremunds and Moco Weeds to craft them yourself.
