| “ | Summons Poltergeist to create a protection barrier. | „ |
Welcome Company is a Conjure Shard in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
Description[]
Welcome Company summons a number of paintings which rotate around Miriam forming a protective barrier, able to take hits for her and dealing damage to any enemy that contacts them. The paintings are gradually destroyed on contact with enemies, but otherwise persist until Miriam leaves the current room. Invoking Welcome Company costs 40 MP, but there is no upkeep cost once the paintings have appeared.
Increasing the Shard's Grade will increase the damage dealt by each painting, while increasing Rank increases the number of paintings that appear when Welcome Company is activated without increasing the MP cost, up to a maximum of nine.
Welcome Company is primarily useful in the early game, where it deals surprisingly high DPS for all the paintings and can serve as a general protective measure while allowing Miriam to deal damage with her weapons and Directional Shards. It is very effective to avoid damage from nuisance monsters, particularly against enemies that are small (Toads, Simians, etc.) or that can appear without warning (Dullahammer Heads, Maledictions). It will often stun or knock back smaller enemies when it deals damage to them. Later in the game, the damage from Accelerator is a fair substitute for it.
All Rank upgrades to Welcome Company require Oak, which is dropped by the Poltergeist itself (10.00%) and Carriage Morte (4.00%), and is among the list of randomized items found in blue chests in the Towers of Twin Dragons. The mid-level upgrades add a requirement for Walnut, dropped by Chair Mimics (8.00%), while the final two upgrades require Mahogany, which is dropped by Deathtraps (8.00%) and among the random items in blue chests in the Secret Sorcery Lab and the Forbidden Underground Waterway.
Availability[]
- Dropped by:
- Poltergeist (4.00%)
Welcome Company is dropped by Poltergeists, the painting enemies encountered in the Galleon Minerva, Dian Cécht Cathedral, Towers of Twin Dragons and Livre Ex Machina. The base drop rate is 4.00%.
Enhancements[]
Rank: More paintings.
| Rank | Ingredients |
|---|---|
| 2, 3, 4 | Oak ×1 |
| 5, 6, 7 | Oak ×1, Walnut ×1 |
| 8, 9 | Oak ×1, Mahogany ×1 |
Tips on gathering materials[]
- Oak: Drops from Poltergeists (10%) that start appearing as of early Dian Cécht Cathedral; three Poltergeists in the middle of the left tower in the Towers of Twin Dragons are a convenient group to farm. Found in blue chests in later Garden of Silence and the early Towers.
- Walnut: Found in blue chests in Underground Sorcery Lab and later Livre Ex Machina. Drops from the Chair Mimic (8%) that is easily reached in later Livre Ex Machina.
- Mahogany: Found in blue chests in the later Forbidden Underground Waterway, Hidden Desert, and Secret Sorcery Lab, and drops from Deathtrap (8%) in Inferno Cave and Oriental Sorcery Lab. If you are relying on using the entrance in the Hidden Desert to the Tunnels to rapidly farm a nearby blue chest for Gold, you will get loads of Mahogany on the side.
Trivia[]
- Patch 1.04 nerfed Welcome Company by lowering the base ATK of the Shard from 18 to 12 and decreasing the default number of paintings summoned from 5 to 3, though the maximum of 9 did not change.
