The Steak is a Food item in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.

Steak is prepared through Johannes' alchemy menu in Arvantville, requiring Beast Beef ×2, Halite ×1, Black Pepper ×1, and Butter ×1. Meat Dish/R would also need to be retrieved from above the Sabnock chamber in the Entrance zone (requires Double Jump-kicking). After Steak is first prepared, it will be sold at Dominique's supply post for 2,280G.
Beast Beef drops from Zagans (8%) late in Garden of Silence; Halite is an extremely cheap ingredient bought at the store; and Butter will also be sold at the store once you craft one of those from Halite ×1 and Milk ×1. The only "late" ingredient, the Black Pepper, is randomly found in blue chests in the Underground Sorcery Lab halfway through the game.
Usage[]
Steak is a food consumable, restoring 570 HP whenever used and giving a permanent bonus of +5 STR when first eaten. It costs and restores 2.28 times as much as the High Potion, and because it is a meal, up to 99 of it can be carried at a time.
Steak is surprisingly powerful both as a restorative and as a permanent stat buff considering what materials go into it and the earliest point in the game it can be prepared. The trivial processes of farming Beast Beef and buying Halites for 50G and Butters for 150G are all you need to essentially use a Black Pepper found in a blue chest in Underground Sorcery Lab to prepare a Steak, potentially saving vast amounts of Gold. Its powerful +5 STR boost will serve Miriam well throughout the second half of the game's overall playtime.
Steak, like most other HP-restoring meals, will be made mostly redundant once you can start gathering lots of pre-cooked Fried Fish from the blue chests in the underwater portions of Forbidden Underground Waterway. However, once you have gotten Black Pepper from the Underground Sorcery Lab alongside its Reflector Ray shard somewhat earlier in the game, a few Steaks can be prepared and taken into the following zones in between: the upper regions of Livre Ex Machina, the Hall of Termination atop that, and the upper reaches of Dian Cécht Cathedral. It will only be when you get the Blood Steal shard in the Cathedral zone that you can reach the later parts of the Waterway and its Fried Fish-containing blue chests.
