The Sponge Cake is a Food item in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
Description[]
Sponge Cake is a Food consumable, restoring 145 HP whenever used and giving a permanent bonus of LCK +1 when first eaten. It costs and restores 58% as much as the High Potion, and because it is a meal, up to 99 of it can be carried at a time.
Unlike most meals, you might end up with a small stockpile of them without much effort because you can endlessly get them from blue chests. Despite this, it can be crafted as soon as you reach the east end of the Garden of Silence using the Craftwork shard, which is an earlier point in the game where Sponge Cake can be seen as worthwhile because of its valuable LCK +1 point bonus. However, since the Fried Fish is much more powerful as a restorative and is found even more easily throughout the later portions of the Forbidden Underground Waterway, Sponge Cake is often overlooked as a "freebie" restorative you can go out of your way to gather multiples of.

Sponge Cake is prepared through Johannes's alchemy menu in Arvantville, requiring 1 Egg, 1 Flour, 1 Sugar, and 1 Beast Milk; this does not require a Recipe Book to be found. After Sponge Cake is first prepared, it will be sold at Dominique's supply post for 580G.
Egg, Flour, and Sugar are all bought at the store, and Beast Milk drops from Zagan (8.00%) in the later part of the Garden of Silence. This means you can craft this recipe after beating Craftwork and getting its shard.
This happens to be one of two meals (the other being Fried Fish) that can be randomly found in blue chests, meaning the player will likely not to have to bother with its (comparatively simple) crafting process. It can be gathered from both the Hall of Termination and the upper, later parts of the Dian Cécht Cathedral, both of which require getting the Reflector Ray shard in the Underground Sorcery Lab roughly halfway through the game.
