The Sinister Heart is a Material in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.

Description[]

The first Demon you encounter lies shortly before the Craftwork boss in lower Dian Cécht Cathedral, but the Sinister Hearts it drops can only be used to enhance a select few shards dropped by later enemies. The earliest is the Familiar: Dantalion shard dropped by the Dantalion that occurs only in one large room in lower Livre Ex Machina. It primarily takes Tome Scraps dropped by the Dantalion itself to rank up, thus turning it into a "more powerful familiar," and the middle three ranks each take one Sinister Heart as well.

Roughly halfway through the game, when you gain access to Livre Ex Machina's upper levels using Reflector Ray, the Tamako-Deaths in the area drop the Upbeat Heat conjure shard, which summons a friendly Tamako-Death that shoots arcing flames; elevating its rank increases her duration. The primary material used for all eight ranks is storebought Gunpowder, and Sinister Hearts are the additional material used for this shard's middle three ranks as well.

Once you reach Hall of Termination, you can fight your first Archdemons, which drop the Words of Wisdom passive shard. This reduces the MP spent by both shards and techniques by a percentage that scales with the number of grades you collect. Increasing its rank, meanwhile, increases the likelihood that a given cast of a shard or technique will not consume any MP at all. Ranking it up to 4 solely takes Sinister Hearts dropped by the earlier Demon, and ranking it up to 7 solely takes Demon Hearts dropped by the Archdemon itself. Nonetheless, ranking it up to 9 and creating the very useful skill shard clone of it can only happen at the very end of the game because the final materials required are Fiend Hearts dropped by the Demon Lord in the Glacial Tomb.
