Shortcut is a Skill Shard in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
Description[]
When the shard is active, the player can call up a "Shortcuts" menu by holding LT/L2/Tab. By registering equipment and Shard combinations in the Main Menu, the player can use the Shortcuts menu to quickly swap between them without needing to constantly swap equipment via the Main Menu.
This Shard does not Rank up. Increasing the shard's Grade by acquiring additional Shortcut shards increases the number of available shortcut slots.
Availability[]
There are only four Shortcut shards hidden across the Hellhold, meaning that New Game+ is required to achieve Grade 9. Said locations are:
- Dian Cécht Cathedral: Found in the first room of this area. The Shard Stand with the first Shortcut shard is found about midway and on the left of this room (below the Cyhyraeth).
- Entrance: In the vertical shaft leading to the Oriental Sorcery Lab, enter the first room to the left (below the corridors full of spikes). This room can first be reached shortly after the player's first visit to the Dian Cécht Cathedral; from the first Save Room of this area, head all the way up and then to the left past the Cyhyraeth; keep heading all the way left (jumping over the pit along the way) until reaching a small room; the Shard Stand (likely the second one obtained in the game) stands behind an HP Max Up.
- Forbidden Underground Waterway: Entering from the well in the Garden of Silence, descend all the way down the first room and enter the room at its bottom (below the Save Room) to find the Shard Stand with the Shortcut shard.
- Underground Sorcery Lab: In the room prior to Bathin's boss room, jump-kick on Bu-chan[1] to reach the top-right corner exit (alternatively, after defeating Bathin and having obtained the Reflector Ray shard, aim the Reflector Ray toward the upper-right corner, activate it, and press Jump the moment Miriam exits the beam to perform an extra midair jump and reach the ledge). In the next room with the Macaron, hit the (high) right wall to destroy it and uncover a secret room containing an HP Max Up along with a white crystal containing the Shortcut shard.
