The Scarlet Cyclone is an attack used by Bloodless in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. Depending on the mode, it is either a part of her standard equipment or acquired as a Blood Shard.
Description[]
While standing, Bloodless points her Red Umbrella outward and fires a sustained torrent of blood from its tip. The blood stream travels through the air in a rotating motion (hence the name) and can be aimed freely through the same controls as Miriam's Directional Shards. The Scarlet Cyclone deals rapid damage and passes through enemies, but it is stopped by solid walls.
As a boss, Bloodless typically fires the Scarlet Cyclone straight at the player for a few seconds (avoidable by crouching) and then aims it upward to cover parts of the ceiling in blood. She can then repurpose this blood for the Blood Rain attack.
The Scarlet Cyclone is among the most powerful attacks that Bloodless can use as a playable character in Bloodless Mode or Boss Revenge Mode, but its rapid MP consumption means that she will quickly run out of the resource if the attack is not used sparingly. Thus, the Scarlet Cyclone is generally inadvisable to use against bosses, but its free aiming capability and unlimited range make it an effective way to clear out regular enemies, particularly at a distance.
Availability[]
In Bloodless Mode in Ritual of the Night, the Scarlet Cyclone is not initially available as a move but must be acquired from a Blood Shard in the Underground Sorcery Lab. It is specifically found on the top floor of the room that connects Bathin's arena to the area's Warp Room.
Trivia[]
- In early versions of Ritual of the Night, Bloodless's voice lines for the Scarlet Cyclone were also used for the uncharged Scarlet Thrust.
