Cooked rice shaped into a portable snack for when you feel peckish.

The Rice Ball is a Food in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.

Availability[]

Rice Balls are prepared through Johannes' alchemy menu in Arvantville, requiring Rice ×1 and Halite ×1. Given that Rice is one of the three basic Seed-grown ingredients and that Halite can be bought for a meager 50G a piece, it is the simplest food to prepare in the game.

It is one of a few foods that can be created as soon as Miriam can craft. Rice Balls can be created before even setting foot into the castle, and the player does not necessarily have to spend time battling in Galleon Minerva to get a Rice Seed to grow into a yield of 10 pieces of Rice in order to achieve this; the first quest issued by Abigail rewards you 5 pieces of Rice for donating a Tunic.

Usage[]

Rice Balls are food consumables, restoring 37 HP whenever used and giving a permanent bonus of +10 Max HP and +2 CON when first eaten. Though it will be available to buy at Dominique's supply post for 150G after the first time it is prepared, it and the basic restorative it is on curve with, the Potion (which restores 50 HP and is sold for 200G), will quickly fall out of favor compared to meals on the restorative level of High Potion.

A Rice Ball is also required for Susie's first quest as a "portable snack", with a Thorn Whip as a reward.

Trivia[]

  • Rice Balls, or onigiri, are a Japanese food made from shaping white rice (in this case, into a triangle), usually wrapped in edible seaweed, or nori. They are typically filled with meats or fruit, though the rice balls in-game lack such a filling.
