A curry and rice plate with large chunks of pork. Tasty and filling.

The Pork Curry is a Food item in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.

Availability[]

Pork Curry is prepared through Johannes' alchemy menu in Arvantville, requiring Curry Sauce ×1, Rice ×1, and Plume Pork ×1 and also requiring Curry Dish/R to have been collected off the top northwest corner of the waterfall room in Forbidden Underground Waterway (which normally requires Double Jump to clear the gap from right to left). After Pork Curry is first prepared, it will be sold at Dominique's supply post for 900G.

Pork Curry requires the exact same ingredients as the Curry & Rice, with the only additional ingredient being an easily dropped Plume Pork from the Plume Parma early in Garden of Silence. Rice is grown by Harry out of a planted Rice Seed. The "main" ingredient, the Curry Sauce, is crafted out of four ingredients of its own: Moco Leek ×1 and Moco Oil ×1, both of which are commonly dropped by Moco Weed (also early in the Garden of Silence); Halite ×1 bought for super-cheap at the store; and most significantly, Curry Powder ×1. This is dropped by Ordog in the lower, earlier portion of Dian Cécht Cathedral (right next to the warp room), though it drops at a rather rare 3% base chase (to improve the drop rate, try collecting the first Plunderer's Ring at Galleon Minerva once you get Double Jump, a skill shard you will likely use anyway to get the Curry Dish recipe book).

When you get Double Jump and therefore gain easy access to Curry/R in the room adjacent to the top edge of the waterfall room, the other green chest just in front of it contains a free Curry Powder. (You don't even explicitly need Double Jump to get the two chests because the Chair Mimic near the bottom of the waterfall can transport you up there at an even earlier point in the game.) Curry Powder can more easily be found as random rewards in blue chests in the Underground Sorcery Lab halfway through the game and in the Inferno Cave about 75% through the game.

Usage[]

Pork Curry is a food consumable, restoring 225 HP whenever used and giving a permanent bonus of +50 Max HP and a surprisingly high +8 CON when first eaten. It costs and restores 90% as much as the High Potion, and because it is a meal, up to 99 of it can be carried at a time.

Presuming you aren't using the Chair Mimic trick in the waterfall room, Pork Curry is one of three similar meals (the others being Curry & Rice and Chicken Curry) unlocked all at once by Curry Dish/R that can be crafted as soon as you can collect that recipe book with the help of Double Jump (a shard collected in early Livre Ex Machina about one third through the campaign). All three meals add a hefty +40-50 HP, and in addition to the Pork Curry's own +8 CON boost, the Chicken Curry adds +8 MND.

Since all three meals are dependent on crafting Curry Sauce as an intermediary ingredient that takes a rare Curry Powder drop that doesn't become easy to find until Underground Sorcery Lab, you can forego farming the Ordog for the powder by using the free Curry Powder gotten from the chest next to the Curry Dish/R chest to craft one Curry Sauce and add that to the shop, then buy two more at 500G each. Miriam can amass +140 Max HP, +8 CON, and +8 MND easily though crafting these three meals from the three Curry Sauces she will now have, making it easier for her to survive all the content that follows getting the Double Jump from Andrealphus. If you are using the Chair Mimic trick, the Pork Curry and Curry & Rice can be prepared before even getting the Double Jump, giving you +90 HP and +8 CON before fighting Andrealphus for the skill shard.

Pork Curry is also a material used in the following shard enhancement:
