Oriental Sorcery Lab

The Oriental Sorcery Lab is a location in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. It is the last region in Gebel's castle that Miriam must explore in order to find the means to pass Gebel's battle "correctly" and progress into the true final zones of the game.

Progression[]

This zone occupies the northwest corner of the castle portion of the game's map and can only be accessed by thoroughly exploring the rest of the zones making up the castle. Its entrance lies at the top of the very tall opening chamber in the Entrance zone. You will need both the Invert shard from Inferno Cave and the Aegis Plate hidden in the boss screen of Towers of Twin Dragons to pass through the spiked obstacles blocking you from reaching the exit into the Oriental Sorcery Lab, and the Craftwork shard is also needed to remove the iron maidens blocking your way.

The Oriental Sorcery Lab quickly unlocks powerful features for Miriam thanks to certain pickups and enemies. The blue chests in this area gives you ample Soy Sauce, which goes into various powerful late-game meals. The Haagenti enemy drops extremely useful Bovine Plumes, and you can immediately convert one into the High Jump shard. From the 1×2 room at the southeast corner of the map, head straight upward to find an exit into the enclosed top portion of the west bell tower of the Dian Cécht Cathedral, where you can find the Hair Apparent II book among other treasures.

There is a confusing maze of red torii that leads to several green chests:

Walk west through the first, lower-right torii to drop out of an upside-down torii to its left, then jump into that same torii from its right side to warp further left and break open a wall to find the Kitsune Mask.
Now, walk east through the first, lower-right torii to get to a part where five toriis are lined up in a row; jump left over all of them to reach the room west where the powerful Ramen/R recipe book is in a green chest.
Now, walk west through the center of the five red toriis to reach the upper part of the area, with toriis that are positioned both horizontally and vertically. Jump west through the upside-down torii hanging immediately to the upper left of the standing torii you just stepped out of to reach the upper-left corner, which will lead to Crimsonite Equipment/R.
Return to the upper part of the area and pass through the horizontal torii on the upper-right ceiling to pass into the enclosed northeast space and progress upward further. (Using Invert may help you reach this.)

Explore the upper half of the zone until you find the northwest save point, then fight a boss battle against a character previously fought as a boss and win the Zangetsuto weapon. Return to Hall of Termination and fight Gebel with this weapon, and bring his health dangerously low so that the moon in the background turns blood red, at which point you must slice the moon apart with the weapon to unlock the route leading to the "true ending." You will then need to slice the same moon in the center of the Garden of Silence to open the way to the Den of Behemoths, one of the last zones in the game.

One of the treasures you may have previously gotten with the help of Invert is the Carpenter's Key at the top of the east tower of Dian Cécht Cathedral, which unlocks the optional boss room a short ways northwest of the warp point in the Oriental Sorcery Lab. This lets you fight the Master Carpenter.

A shard you will end up getting late in the final zone in the game, Dimension Shift, will allow you to get into the spaces underneath the arched bridges at the bottom of the Oriental Sorcery Lab. One green chest contains the Talisman Scarf. If you had previously given two Waystones to Benjamin in the Entrance zone and then behind the waterfall at Forbidden Underground Waterway, he will be visible under one of the bridges, and giving him one more Waystone will reward you with 10,000G and prompt him to successfully warp back to Arvantville. There, he will give you the Adversity Ring.

Bloodless Mode[]

To reach this area, Bloodless must first go to the Hidden Desert where she fights Alfred to acquire the Blood of Flight. She can then access the Oriental Sorcery Lab by space jumping up the tall opening chamber in the Entrance. The spikes in the way are removed, so there are no threats in the way to the area.

Aurora Mode[]

To access this area, Aurora must first travel through the Inferno Cave. There she fights Orobas to claim the Sun, which gives her immunity to spikes in the same manner as the Aegis Plate does for Miriam. She can then fly up the Entrance's opening chamber and move through the spikes there unharmed.

After Aurora wins her second battle against Zangetsu in this area, he recognizes her as an ally and uses a rhyme to explain how she should defeat Gebel: bring his health down until the moon in the background turns red, then use the Sword of Mathildis to cleave it. Although the Sword of Mathildis does not actually change, trying to cleave the moon in Gebel's arena will not work until Zangetsu is defeated and has told Aurora to do so.
