A fiery hellhound composed of rotting flesh.
~ Description from Ritual of the Night

Ordog is a recurring enemy in the Bloodstained series.

Description[]

Ordog's appearance resembles that of a furless dog or cat with the addition of a human skull-like head without eyes. Its forelegs protrude outward, unlike any of its possible animal inspirations, resembling human shoulders that transition to paws. Its skin is red with black stripes along its legs, back and tail. It has horns atop of its head and spikes running along its back and tail. It appears to be asleep before the player approaches, and drips a red liquid –likely blood– as it walks and leaps.

Ordog has two attacks. The first has Ordog light itself on fire and leaps toward the player. The second has Ordog stand still and regurgitates acid in an arc in the direction of the player. This attack doesn't deal any initial damage, but it does poison the player.

Ordogs return in Curse of the Moon 2, appearing in Stage 1.

Trivia[]

  • Ordog is the name of a shape-shifting demon in Hungarian mythology who became associated with Hell when Christianity was brought to the area.
    • It is said that he often changed into a fox when he visited Earth, which may have inspired Ordog's design.
  • Ordog may have been inspired by the Black Panther from the Castlevania series, a feline enemy which also is initially found lying stationary and that starts chasing the player when approached.
