Optimizer is a Passive Shard in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
Description[]
Equipping Optimizer increases the player's weapon attack speed, enhancing their damage-per-second potential. It can be considered as a universal "Expertise" Passive Shard that is applied to all types of weapons and not only one. While it allows swinging slow weapons like Greatswords faster, it is especially beneficial on weapons like Daggers and Rapiers, which are already quick by nature, and which with the added speed will let the player defeat enemies with just a few quick consecutive hits.
In addition to this, enhancing Optimizer increases weapon damage, which in conjunction with the added speed, will allow the player to make short work of most enemies. This makes the Optimizer unusual compared to a normal "Expertise" passive shard in that the primary bonus to the player's damage output comes from the enhancements applied to the shard, whereas collecting duplicate grades only vaguely improves combat speeds. As a result, many players would prefer to only bother getting one Optimizer shard to drop from the Ocypete and enhance it to Rank 7 as soon as possible using three of the Ocypete's dropped Flight Feathers and three Thunderbird Plumes dropped by its earlier cousin, Celaeno.
Even though you would ultimately prefer to equip a more dedicated Expertise shard matching your equipped weapon's class, it is recommended to have Optimizer ranked up to 7 by the time you get to the Oriental Sorcery Lab late in the game. At that point, it only takes having the Haagenti drop two Bovine Plumes to reach the final two ranks of Optimizer, which will create the Skill Shard equivalent of Optimizer and cause a sizeable passive increase to your ATK ratings with all weapon types, stacking with whatever is equipped in your passive shard slot.
