Oengus[1] is a character and Conjure Shard exclusive to Aurora Mode in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
Description[]
A piston-like object extends in front of Aurora, damaging anything in its way. The attack costs 20 MP. Although it has a wide range, this attack deals relatively little damage, particularly against late-game foes.
Oengus also has two passive functions when equipped: he increases ATK and the damage dealt by a successful Parry.
Oengus can be enhanced using Orichalcum, which increases the size and damage of his piston attack.
Availability[]
Oengus is a guaranteed drop from the first Wolfman that Aurora defeats; afterward, each enemy that drops Orichalcum has a chance to relinquish an Oengus Shard, although only once per type; these demons are Demon, Archdemon, Demon Lord, Sabnock, Marbas, Gargoyle, Gaap, and Silver Wolfman. Achieving Max grade and Max rank for all shards, including the Oengus Shards, is necessary to obtain 100% completion with Aurora.
Trivia[]
- Aside from Igniculus, Oengus is the only Shard in Aurora Mode that lacks a clear equivalent in Miriam's campaign. Of all Shards that have been transformed by curse, he is also the only one whose effect does not feature the demon that is guaranteed to drop the Shard.
- The Oengus Shard bears a striking resemblance to the Hammer Knuckle, the closest shard Miriam has as a counterpart; the key difference, is that the latter is a Directional Shard, meaning it can be aimed, while Oengus will always direct the fist attack directly in front of Aurora.
