The Monster Fang is a Material in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
Description[]
The Buers first encountered in Dian Cécht Cathedral and are more readily available in the Forbidden Underground Waterway drop Monster Fangs at a 5% base rate. They are primarily used to give ranks to the Summon Buer conjure shard that the Buer also drops, increasing the duration of the immobile Buer that can be struck to get launched in a desired direction. All eight of its rank advancements consume one Monster Fang each, and the middle three each additionally take a Lion Mane dropped by the earlier-encountered Sabnock. The last two ranks each require a Lion Lord's Mane dropped by the Sabnock's lategame-tier cousin Marbas in the Den of Behemoths near the end of the game.
Coincidentally, the Marbas drops Drain, a passive shard that also requires Monster Fangs to advance through its middle three ranks with. Collecting grades of it increases the frequency that it will absorb HP for Miriam upon striking an enemy, and increasing its rank increases the scale of the HP restored. The other required materials for reaching Rank 7 are Sinister Fangs dropped by Demons and Monster Blood dropped by Simians, and reaching Rank 9 and creating its skill shard clone requires Fiend Hearts dropped by the Demon Lord in the Glacial Tomb right afterward.
Monster Fangs have an inordinate relevance to crafts and enhancements provided by DLC packs. The free Shantae-themed DLC provides the Risky Pistol, Risky Blade, and Half-Genie Outfit at the start of the game, and all three items require one Monster Fang each to reach Rank 2 (or Rank 3 in the case of the blade). Meanwhile, the Summon Bu-chan conjure shard, from the paid DLC "Magical Girl Cosmetic Pack", requires a total of eight Monster Fangs to elevate to Rank 9, among other materials.
