Bloodstained Wiki

The blood of some hellish creature.

The Monster Blood is a Material in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.

Description[]

The Simian, which is somewhat hard to farm quickly in the east outdoor screen of Garden of Silence, has a mercifully generous 10% base rate to drop Monster Blood. Unless you have the "Succubus Cosmetic Pack" paid DLC installed, the only shards this enhances are found at various stages much later in the game.

Once you defeat Bloodless and gain Blood Steal, a conjure shard needed to gain access into the western part of Forbidden Underground Waterway from the Entrance, you can spend three Monster Bloods to advance its Rank to 4, increasing the value of its HP-siphoning effect. (Its subsequent ranks require Witch's Tears from the Cyhyraeth and Aquatic Blood from both the Deeseama and Scylla in the newly opened area of the Waterway.)

In Inferno Cave, the Blood Bug drops the Red Remembrance passive shard, which is primarily enhanced by the Inhuman Carapace the Blood Bug also drops. Collecting grades of that increases how much your stats elevate as your HP decreases, and increasing ranks causes more parameters to be affected. The middle three ranks each take one Monster Blood, and the final two ranks that stand between you and the skill shard clone of Red Remembrance each require one Demon Horn dropped by the Gaap in Oriental Sorcery Lab.

The Marbas in the endgame Den of Behemoths zone drops the Drain passive shard, allowing you to occasionally absorb HP on hit; the grade increases its chance to proc, and the rank increases how much is recovered. All eight ranks take one Sinister Fang each (dropped by the Demon), and the middle three ranks each take one Monster Blood and one Monster Fang (dropped from early Buers) as well. The final two ranks to go through in order to get the skill shard version of this shard require a total of two Fiend Hearts, which are rarely dropped by the very tough Demon Lord in the Glacial Tomb.

As for the DLC conjure shard, Dream Steal, it is similar to the Blood Steal shard (including how ranks increase the amount recovered) but is available from the start of the game. All eight ranks require one Monster Blood each, with each of the three tiers respectively requiring Ectoplasm (easily bought from the store or dropped by the Amy in Hidden Desert), Sharp Razor (from the Killer Barber in early Dian Cécht Cathedral), and Ambrosia (from the Vul'sha in Hidden Desert) as additional materials.
