The Monster Bird Hair is a Material in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
Description[]
The Celaeno is first fought in the later portions of the Towers of Twin Dragons reached using the Double Jump shard won by the Andrealphus boss in Livre Ex Machina, and it drops Monster Bird Hairs at a 6% base rate. This material can be used immediately to help advance through the middle three ranks of the Familiar: Dullahammer Head familiar shard dropped by the common Dullahammer Heads; this shard takes a Stonethaw as a consistent material for all eight of its shard rank advancements and becomes a "more powerful familiar" as a result. If you have the paid DLC "Magical Girl Cosmetic Pack" installed, the Familiar: Bu-chan shard you would have started the game with will take Monster Bird Hairs for its middle three ranks as well, in addition to the Leonine Pelts (dropped by Buer) used in all of the first six of its rank-ups.
Considering how useful the Celaeno's dropped Teps Oceus shard is, you may end up with a fair stockpile of Monster Bird Hairs while farming the Celaeno for grades of it. The only other function of Monster Bird Hair, however, is to create the 35-ATK Black Cords whip, which only becomes possible after finding Fine Equipment/R in Hall of Termination sometime later in the game. It, alongside the Snakebite poison whip that the recipe book also unlocks, is the "ideal" whip to use until you start getting Beast Killer to drop in Secret Sorcery Lab. Once you have the recipe book, it will take four Monster Bird Hairs, three Durable Leathers from the Decarabia wheel-like enemies in eastern Forbidden Underground Waterway, and the extremely easy early-game materials Moco Oil and Melting Skull.
