| ~ Description from Ritual of the Night |
The Mimic is a recurring enemy in the Bloodstained series.
Description[]
At first glance, the Mimic resembles an ordinary European-styled coffer, allowing it to fool any unsuspecting adventurers that get too close to it. When opened, a life-sized spider emerges from inside and attacks the victim before retreating back into its shelter for a brief moment. It attacks by leaping at the player, so crouching is effective in avoiding damage. It also has a chance to Curse the player when it damages them, reducing their maximum HP and MP by half for a period of time.
It drops the valuable Money Is Power Passive Shard, which allows the player to sell items at an increased price. The first Mimic in the game is found in the leftmost large room of the Underground Sorcery Lab, although trying to farm it can be a bit difficult, as to reach it the player will first have to deal with several Sidhes and a resilient Puppy that stand in the way. A much easier to farm Mimic is found alone in a small room of the Livre Ex Machina (only reachable after obtaining the Reflector Ray in the aforementioned Underground Sorcery Lab).
