Bloodstained Wiki

The Megiddo Depths are a location in Classic II: Dominique's Curse. The area features a combination of Greek-style ruins and stranded ships. The presence of the ghost ships here is implied be work of Focalor, one of the four Dukes of Hell that rule Limbo, and the area also provides access to the Fallen City where he dwells.

Initially, this area is named the Megiddo Wastes and appears to be a sandy area like the Plain of Burning Sand before it. This is an illusion: the True Sight, a Passive Shard bought from the Merchant in Paulina after bringing him Omurice, reveals that the region surrounding Megiddo and the Fallen City is actually a lake. Once the True Sight has revealed the true nature of these areas, it does not need to be equipped to keep them that way. Using the Deep Sinker acquired by defeating Focalor, Dominique can descend through the water here to reach the submerged Lethe Cavern.

The Groundskeeper associated with the Fallen City patrols Megiddo during the New Moon, but he moves into the dungeon itself during the Dead Moon.

Trivia[]

  • This area is named after Megiddo, an ancient city in what is now Israel. Although it became the site of several battles, the real Megiddo was abandoned under undramatic circustances after a long decline in relevance. The city's Greek name Armageddon came to mean "cataclysm" through a description of one of these battles in the Book of Revelation.
