Appearances[]
Ritual of the Night[]
Marbas is essentially a stronger version of Sabnock. It behaves in largely the same way but has a new ability: if injured, it can stand still for a few seconds to regenerate health on its own. Marbas is generally found paired with a Silver Wolfman, and the player will often have to fight both of these powerful enemies at once.
Marbas drops the Lion Lord's Mane, a Material used to enhance certain useful Shards to Ranks 8 and 9 (like the Familiar: Dullahammer Head). It also drops Drain, a Passive Shard that sometimes steals HP from enemies to heal the player.
Classic II: Dominique's Curse[]
Marbases are among the "civilized" demons that inhabit the towns of Almadel and Notoria. Dominique Baldwin can speak to them for information. During the Dead Moon, Marbases attack her with their swords and may perform a leaping strike. Their attack patterns are almost identical to those of the Sabnocks from earlier towns.
Dialogue[]
The following quotes are spoken by different Marbases in Classic II: Dominique's Curse. Red text is presented as such by the True Sight.
- Almadel
- "Secrets hang over an icy chasm..."
- This likely refers to the Malebolge Gateway.
- Notoria
- "Malebolge is the foundation of Bael's Palace, but it seems there is more to it than that..."
- "Phlegethon is known as Limbo's Edge, because there's nothing beyond it." (followed by laughter)
- "Limbo's Edge" would be a misnomer. Phlegethon features a chasm in the middle that looks like a dead end but can be crossed by creating platforms. This is the only way to reach Gremory's residence in the Furnace of Dis.
