| ~ Description from Ritual of the Night |
The Living Fossil is an enemy in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
Description[]
The reanimated bones of a dragon (possibly the same type of Dragon that is fought elsewhere in the game). The Living Fossil is only encountered in large chambers of the Hidden Desert where great quantities of sand are continually falling. It is initially found just as a pile of old bones, but when approached, these will start flying all around until they reassemble the monster itself.
The fossil mostly attacks in the same way all all other dragon types in the game do: it can shoot a ray from its mouth, has a heavy claw swipe attack that produces an earth wave that travels along the ground, and can perform a damaging tail swipe. However, it does have a distinctive attack where it quickly dives into the sand and starts "swimming" forward in an undulating manner, inflicting physical damage on contact.
Lindsay's quest, "Avenge the death of Soleiyu!", requires you to slay four Living Fossils and rewards you with 2 Crystals.
Trivia[]
- The inclusion of this enemy in the game is possibly inspired by the Dragon Zombie from the Castlevania franchise.
