The Lion Lord's Mane is a Material in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.

Description[]

When you reach the final stages of the game by entering the Den of Behemoths, you can start slaying the Marbas, an endgame-tier cousin to the early Sabnock, to gather Lion Lord's Manes (which itself can be seen as a counterpart to the Sabnock's dropped Lion Manes). This can be used to enhance several shards through their respective final two ranks.

The most universally useful shard for the Lion Lord's Mane to enhance is Augment CON, which is dropped by the Allocer in Hidden Desert and is primarily enhanced by easy-to-farm Ectoplasms, with three Holy Waters needed to enhance it through its middle ranks. Each rank additionally grants a max-HP increase while it is equipped (which works to bypass the HP cap imposed by Nightmare difficulty). By using two Lion Lord's Manes to top this shard off, you will gain the skill shard version of Augment CON and immediately gain a good amount of extra max HP, on top of extra CON points depending on how many grades of the shard you have farmed from Allocers thus far.

The earlier Buer drops the Summon Buer conjure shard, which is primarily enhanced by Monster Fangs dropped by the Buer itself and increases its duration as you increase its rank. The middle three ranks take one Lion Mane each, and the final two ranks take one Lion Lord's Mane each. Another Buer-themed shard is the Familiar: Buer familiar shard dropped by the Triwheel Buer in upper Livre Ex Machina, as well as the Giant Buer in the Den of Behemoths itself. Its first three ranks use up Leonine Pelts dropped by the basic Buer, and its next three ranks use up Sinister Pelts dropped by the Wolfman in Towers of Twin Dragons. The final two ranks each take one Lion Lord's Mane and one Demon Pelt (dropped by the Gusions fought in several areas like the Underground Sorcery Lab).

On the subject of Familiar shards, Familiar: Dullahammer Head (dropped by basic Dullahammer Heads) requires Lion Lord's Manes to advance them through their final two ranks, after having used Stonethaws and Monster Bird Hair (dropped by the Celaeno in Towers of Twin Dragons) to advance them to Rank 7. Ranks of either Familiar: Dullahammer Head or Familiar: Buer result in a "more powerful familiar," and so does ranks of the DLC-exclusive Familiar: Bu-chan shard that is part of the paid DLC "Magical Girl Cosmetic Pack". Leonine Pelts and Monster Bird Hairs are used to rank that up to Rank 7, and two Lion Lord's Manes and four Sapphires are used to proceed to Rank 9.
