The Leonine Pelt is a Material in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
Description[]
When Leonine Pelts start dropping from Buers that start appearing as of the lower levels of Dian Cécht Cathedral, three armors seemingly designed to accommodate that early part of the game become feasible to craft all at once. Three pelts by themselves can craft the Hound Vest, which adds 3 STR and 2 MND to its 13 DEF; a pelt and a Steel such as what is dropped by the Sabnock and Blood Grinder Knights creates the 14-DEF Chainmail that features 3 resistance points each to Slash and Strike; and two pelts and two Dreadful Rags, dropped by the Barbatos, create the 11-DEF Mantua, which adds 3 INT and 6 MND.
For the most part, none of these armors are worth crafting because you can also craft the midgame-tier Silver Breastplate early using Silver dropped by the Bloodbringer and a Sinister Rag dropped by the Cyhyraeth, both in that area of the Cathedral. However, you will need to craft a Hound Vest at some point in order to progress past Abigail's eighth quest (rewarding a Cowboy Hat) and unlock the next mourning quest.
Another item that can immediately be crafted is a Beast Beret, which offers 1 STR, 1 CON, and 5 Slash resistance along its 5 DEF. It can be crafted with a Houndskin dropped by the early Gieremund, but this may not be worth it because the Pirate Hat, which also offers 1 STR, offers two LCK. Furthermore, a free Beast Beret can be found in the post-stagecoach area of Garden of Silence, and by the time you can get Faerie Wing to drop from the Sidhe way over in Underground Sorcery Lab, you can use that and a Lili Tail to "upgrade" it to a Cute Beast Beret (which is largely redundant with the Wolf Hood you can get the Wolfman to drop much earlier).
The Triwheel Buer that can be fought in the upper area of Livre Ex Machina and then the Hall of Termination can drop the Familiar: Buer shard, which ranks up to become a "more powerful familiar" using a pelt for each of its first three ranks. If you have the paid DLC "Magical Girl Cosmetic Pack" installed, the Familiar: Bu-chan shard can be ranked up through its first six ranks using Leonine Pelts, with the middle three using Monster Bird Hair drops from the Celaeno in the upper Towers of Twin Dragons.
On the subject of DLC, three separate DLC packs feature upgradeable armor series that each take Leonine Pelts in order to reach their second versions. The Vampiric Skinsuit from the "Succubus Cosmetic Pack" gains 9 DEF through three pelts, the Miri Dress from the "Magical Girl Cosmetic Pack" gains 8 DEF and 2 INT through two pelts and two Dreadful Rags, and the Japanesque Robe from the "Japanesque Cosmetic Pack" gains 9 DEF, 1 STR, 1 CON, 3 Slash resistance, and 3 Strike resistance using one pelt and one Steel.
