Intelligence, abbreviated as INT, is a statistic featured in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. The Intelligence a player character has determines how much magical damage they can deal to enemies by casting spells through the usage of Shards or other forms of magic. A general rule of thumb is that if an attack uses up MP and/or does not make use of the character's primary weapons, it receives a damage bonus from INT.
Description[]
The Intelligence (INT) statistic is a numerical representation of the player character's own developed intelligence during the course of the game, which increases as they acquire Experience (EXP) and level up, allowing them to cast more powerful spells to either inflict more damage to enemies or to make restorative or boosting spells more potent.
Offensively speaking, the purpose of the INT stat is to add a damage bonus to attacks made with spells, familiars, and forms. This is mainly reflected through the usage of Conjure Shards, Manipulative Shards and Directional Shards during direct combat, although it will also increase the potential of Passive Shards and Familiar Shards (Skill Shards do not seem to be affected by INT in any way). Conjure Shards in particular are worth a special mention, as it is likely these will be the main form of magical attacks employed by most players during a playthrough.
As with all stats, the INT stat will increase each time the player levels up (generally by 1 point). Additionally, the player can artificially further increase this stat by equipping gear or by using shards that boost INT.
INT can be considered to be a counterpart of the Strength (STR) stat, just focusing in enhancing magical abilities instead of Attack (ATK).
In Bloodless Mode, Bloodless can increase her INT by finding shards of Blood of Erudition in addition to leveling up.
