~ In-game description

IGA is a boss in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.

Description[]

Location[]

In order to confront IGA, the player must have the backer bonus or "IGA's Back Pack" DLC. They must also have already defeated Gebel by using Zangetsuto to slash the moon in order to open the path to the "true" ending.

If these conditions are fulfilled, there will still be a boss door to the throne room where Gebel was fought upon returning: entering the room will result in a fight with IGA. Note that it is not possible to exit the fight with IGA by using a Waystone once it has begun.

Strategy[]

Like the classic Castlevania boss he is based on, IGA's body does not take damage: only his head is vulnerable. Since he is far taller than Miriam, it is necessary to jump in order to hit this weak point with most weapon types.

Quest[]

Defeating IGA at least once is required for Lindsay's Hunting Quest "Avenge the death of Julius!" which is added if the backer reward/DLC is installed. If it is unlocked, the player can pick up this Quest the first time they talk to Lindsay in Arvantville. Completing this Quest awards a Sword Whip.

Trivia[]

  • IGA is essentially a souped-up version of the Dracula boss battles in previous Castlevania titles. Both share the fireball move, throwing wine glasses, and a tendency to continuously teleport.
  • Adrasteia is virtually useless against IGA because its beams will lock on to the boss' invincible center of mass instead of his head.
  • IGA is the only boss whose battle voice is not listed in sound test mode even after the corresponding DLC has been installed.
