~ Terms description |
Harry Benson is a non-playable character in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. He is one of the few remaining residents of the town of Arvantville.
He was voiced by Christopher Swindle in the English version of the game and by Kenichi Mine in the Japanese version.
History[]
Harry Benson was one of the few people who survived the initial demon attack on Arvantville. However, he lost his lively to those demons, who destroyed all of his crop fields. After Miriam meets Harry, he decides to make a deal with her: if she provides the seeds, he would grow them and give her a portion of the harvest.
Services[]
The player can give Harry one of three different types of seeds: Rice Seeds, Corn Seeds, or Potato Seeds. After a certain amount of time, his crops will finish growing and he'll give Miriam ten of whatever type of seed was given to him initially: Rice, Corn and Potatoes, respectively. The rate of growth seems to be linked to how many rooms are entered and exited.
Quotes[]
- "Here to plant something?"
- "Sure. I'll get to work."
- "These things take time to grow."
- "Look how far the crop's come!"
- "We'll be harvesting in no time."
- "I finished the harvest. Here's your share."
Trivia[]
- Doing business with Harry can allow the player get their hands on a few rare ingredients that can help quickly progress through Susie's food questline. The first food Susie will ask for is a Rice Ball, but Rice can be easily obtained as a reward for completing Abigail's first quest (give her the Tunic found in the Galleon Minerva), so it is recommended to first give Harry the Potato Seed instead, so the player can prepare Fried Potatoes sooner, which Susie will ask for on her third quest; and next give Harry the Corn Seed, so the player can later prepare Corn Chowder, which Susie will ask for on her fourth quest.
- He shares his full name, Harry Benson, with the character of the same name from the 1988 graphic adventure Snatcher by Konami (creators of the Castlevania series, which the Bloodstained series is a spiritual successor of).
- His name could also be a reference to Harry Mason, a character from the Silent Hill series (also by Konami), although this is unconfirmed.
- It could also be a reference to Perry Mason, to which Harry Mason is also a reference of.
