Groundskeepers are non-playable characters that appear in Classic II: Dominique's Curse, a sub-game of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. They are friendly Barbatoses tasked with patrolling the grounds outside the fortresses of the four Dukes of Hell who rule Limbo. There, they give advice or exposition and sell consumable items to anyone who is planning to challenge the Dukes in battle. Some of them also sell Nectar or Ectoplasm, which increase Dominique's maximum stats.
Groundskeepers only venture outside during the New Moon; during the Dead Moon, they move into their assigned fortresses, where they continue to offer their services as normal. They accept only Remains as payment, but they also offer a service where they give Dominique Coins in exchange for Remains. Coins are in turn the only currency that Limbo's Merchants accept. This service is also offered by Hunter demons after they relocate to towns following their defeat, and by the hidden IGA.
On the map of Limbo, Groundskeepers (except for the one in Goetia) are marked with a Barbatos hat. There are five Groundskeepers in Limbo:
- An apprentice who is staying in an attic in Goetia. Like the Merchant in the same town, he vanishes during the Dead Moon.
- One associated with the Infernal Fortress. He patrols the Maw of Ouroboros during the New Moon.
- One associated with the Clockwork Nightmare. He patrols the Descent to Wrath during the New Moon.
- One associated with the Fallen City. He patrols the Megiddo Depths (or Megiddo Wastes) during the New Moon.
- One associated with the Furnace of Dis. He patrols Phlegethon during the New Moon.
