The Ginger Pork is a Food item in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.

Availability[]

Ginger Pork is prepared through Johannes' alchemy menu in Arvantville, requiring Plume Pork ×2, Ginger ×1, Soy Sauce ×1, and Moco Oil ×1 and also requiring Meat Dish/R to have been collected from above the Sabnock chamber in the Entrance zone (requires Double Jump-kicking). After Ginger Pork is first prepared, it will be sold at Dominique's supply post for 900G.

Plume Pork drops from Plume Parmas and Moco Oil drops from Moco Weeds. Both enemies are found early in the Garden of Silence, and the blue chests in this zone (and the early, southwest part of the Towers of Twin Dragons) randomly contain Ginger as well. In stark contrast, Soy Sauce is presented as exclusive to the late-game because it can only spawn in the blue chests in the late-game zone, Oriental Sorcery Lab.

However, exploiting a trick to get early Soy Sauce (by dismantling a free Uni Rice Bowl awarded by an early quest from Lindsay, then crafting a meal that uses a Soy Sauce to add that meal to Dominique's Shop so that more of that meal can be bought and dismantled) means that this can be created and consumed earlier than intended.

Usage[]

Ginger Pork is a food consumable, restoring 225 HP whenever used and giving a permanent bonus of +1 STR and +4 CON when first eaten. It costs and restores 90% as much as the High Potion, and since it is a meal, up to 99 of it can be carried at a time.

If you are doing the "early Soy Sauce trick," all the other ingredients you need to collect are found in early zones that are explored even before you gain the Double Jump shard needed to get the recipe book. This means that, by the time you can first get Meat Dish/R, you can immediately cook this "late-game meal" and enjoy its substantial CON bonus for a massive additional swath of the game's overall playtime.
