~ Description from Ritual of the Night |
The Giant Rat is a recurring enemy in the Bloodstained series.
Description[]
A large demon rat approximately the size of a human that stalks the abandoned streets of Arvantville and its nearby underground caverns. It has a plethora of eyes, its mouth is full of oversized fangs, and has stalk-like protrusions along its back. It charges at the player when approached.
Appearances[]
Ritual of the Night[]
The first Giant Rat is found as Miriam gets off the Galleon Minerva and approaches Arvantville for the first time. A couple more can be encountered along the cavern that connects the village to Gebel's castle (accessed by breaking the floor of the abandoned house).
The Giant Rat's only method of attack is by charging at the player; however, it can change directions very quick, allowing it to either get away from the player as they're attempting to attack it, or quickly turn around and unexpectedly charge at them. Giant Rats are fairly resilient enemies at the point in the game when they're first encountered.
It drops the Cheese ingredient (among other drops), which allows a few advanced food preparations early in the game.
