Armor mantled in searing fire.

The Flame Mail is a Body Armor in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.

Description[]

The Flame Mail is a noteworthy Body Armor that boosts STR +8, greatly increasing the player's physical attack power, and even surpassing some end game armors in this regard, which makes it quite useful when fighting some of the final bosses of the game. In addition to providing DEF +37, it is also one of two armors in the game that provides resistance against Fire attacks (the other being the Apron, although at much lower defensive stats). As such, the Flame Mail becomes very useful while traversing the Inferno Cave, where attacks with this element abound, as well as to lower damage sustained by falling into lava pits.

While the Flame Mail can be crafted, its required materials are relatively hard to come by; however, it can be easily farmed from Volcano Mortes instead (furthermore, certain materials to craft it, like the Bixbite, are mainly obtained in the same area, making farming the armor a better option overall).

Trivia[]

  • While the Flame Mail gives resistance against Fire, lowering damage from falling in lava pits, the Aegis Plate completely negates this damage, making it a better option when traversing these areas. However, the Aegis Plate can only be obtained after completing the Inferno Cave, so wearing it is only possible on following visits to this area.
