Firearms are a class of weapons in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
Description[]
Firearms deal relatively low damage by default, with their principle advantage being the ability to attack enemies at long range. All but the Adrasteia fire their projectiles in a a perfectly straight line forward from the tip of the barrel, unless using Scattershot ammo, in which case they fire in a randomized fan shape.
Firearms fire fairly slowly by default, which can be increased a little with the Gunman's Scarf and by borrowing the Prowess Tome from Orlok Dracule's library in the Livre Ex Machina. In addition, increasing the Rank of the Firearm Expertise Shard will increase the attack speed of Firearms.
Their slow firing speed means they are poorly suited to attacking fast enemies: they also have no "downward swing" equivalent (only being able to be fired while crouching) and so can have trouble hitting very small enemies. On the other hand, they are well-suited to attacking large, slow enemies at a distance, and are particularly good for targeting the "head" weak points of Dullahammers.
Two headgear items have specific effects related to Firearms: the Cowboy Hat increases Firearm damage, while the Gunslinger's Hat increases it even more at the cost of doubling consumption for any type of special ammo.
Firearms only have one Technique, "Rapid Fire", which by default is on the Blunderbuss, Toradar and Verethragna. This locks Miriam in place and has her fire the weapon at an accelerating pace while constantly draining MP for as long as the attack button is held or until the MP gauge is depleted.
The most unusual Firearm is the Miri Scepter, as it works unlike any other Firearm: while it cannot use the Rapid Fire technique, it can act like a Dagger with a quick attack, or an actual Firearm with a charged attack, at which point it will consume Ammunition.

Ammunition[]
- Main article: Ammunition
All Firearms have a default Ammunition type which is unlimited and deals their base ATK score in Thrust damage. However, the player can select different types of Ammunition for them which are more powerful, but not unlimited. Capacity pickups increase the maximum number of special bullets that can be carried at once.
The ability to fire rounds with various different effects makes Firearms an extremely flexible class of weapons, since a simple trip to the menu can allow a gun to switch to an elemental effect appropriate to any given enemy in a way not possible with any other weapon type.
