The Fire Elemental is an enemy in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
Description[]
The Fire Elemental is the fourth of the five "Elemental" enemies in the game. A strange gem-like figure with smaller crystals spinning around it. It floats around the room and eventually stops in order to summon a wall of fire where the player is standing.
Like all the other Elementals, it flies a certain distance –either long or short– strictly in a straight line and then makes a brief stop to either fly to another location or perform an attack. Every time it stops, it has a chance to target the player for its next flight; it does this by actually targeting the direction the player is currently heading toward, which is the reason of its high success rate.
Also, like all the other Elementals, it drops the Passive Shard that gives resistance against its own element, in this case Resist Fire. And likewise, it drops precisely the Material that is used to enhance it, in this case the Ruby, and at a relatively high rate of 12.00%.
Fire Elementals are first and frequently encountered in the Inferno Cave, and due to the natural hazards of this area they may pose a high threat to the player. Because of their aforementioned flying patterns, they can often bump into the player in midair while the latter is struggling to jump along small platforms over rivers of lava, and make them fall into them for heavy damage. They can also frequently cast their flame pillars, which suddenly appear right below the player with little warning. Many Fire Elementals can appear in a single room (about two or three), not to mention other enemies that are also frequently found in these areas, like Volcano Mortes and Zepars. As such, it is highly advisable to equip gear that protects against Fire when dealing with these enemies (or the Aegis Plate on future visits, which nullifies lava damage).
Trivia[]
- Like all the other Elementals, the Fire Elemental's element is related to the area it is mainly encountered in, in this case the Inferno Cave, a fiery volcanic area full of lava rivers.
