The Fangshi Scarf is a Scarf in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.

Description[]

The Fangshi Scarf offers a viable niche among midgame-to-lategame Scarves that can be collected before crafting the ideal Over the Rainbow scarf as of the final zones of the game. It amounts to an option for your scarf gear slot that offers a fair MND increase alongside its solid DEF increase, as well as a sizeable bonus to Light resistance (which is higher than that offered by Over the Rainbow).

Because it is an item that is rewarded deep into Susie's linear cooking questline, players completing all quests as they come will eventually get the only Fangshi Scarf they need, making crafting it yourself ultimately redundant. It is the reward for her 14th quest, which requires submitting a Chiffon Cake. Described in general terms, the player will be unable to complete and proceed past her 8th quest until you gain access to the Black Peppers in Underground Sorcery Lab. Then, most of the rest of her quests can be completed all at once with the help of ingredients like Dragon Eggs and recipe books like Drink/R and Cake/R, which can respectively be found in upper Livre Ex Machina and upper Dian Cécht Cathedral. It becomes possible to earn the Fangshi Scarf from Susie before even fighting the Abyssal Guardian "boss" in Livre Ex Machina.

If you were to craft this yourself, the required recipe book is usually found by players no earlier than the time between Inferno Cave and Oriental Sorcery Lab because the chest containing Very Fine Equipment/R is in an out-of-the-way spot at the top of Dian Cécht Cathedral that is most easily reached with Invert or High Jump. However, it is rather easy to use the Double Jump skill shard's dive kick move to rebound off a purple lantern and land on the bell underneath it, meaning the recipe book can be collected much earlier.

Its required materials consist of a Wool (first dropped by the Wolfman in Towers of Twin Dragons), a Grotesque Shell (dropped by the Scythe Mites in the Towers and the Mimic in upper Livre Ex Machina), and a Vespine Wing (dropped by the Titania in Hall of Termination). When you earn the Reflector Ray shard in Underground Sorcery Lab, it becomes feasible to reach both the Titanias in the Hall and the recipe book in the Cathedral through separate exploration ventures, allowing the Fangshi Scarf to be crafted before fighting bosses like Bloodless. However, even if you collect every material and recipe book as soon as you can, the earliest possible point you can craft the Fangshi Scarf is still later than the earliest point you can get the Fangshi Scarf awarded by Susie; only Susie's scarf can be worn in time for the Abyssal Guardian.
