Familiar: Carabosse is a Familiar Shard in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.

Description

Familiar: Carabosse summons a Carabosse familiar to follow the player with no cost of MP. The familiar creates small darts that generate a red aura around those it hits and heals the player if they reach low health. While she does have slight offensive capabilities, its main role is to support the player; as such, her behavior primarily consists in keeping the player in good health and to remove any illnesses inflicted upon them. For such things, she uses special restorative items properly labeled as "Faerie" (Faerie Medicine, Faerie Elixir, etc.) which faerie type enemies usually drop and that the player cannot make use of by themselves.

If the player is near a breakable wall, floor or ceiling with Familiar: Carabosse active, she will say: "Look here", and float near its location.

Trivia

• If the player stands idle in a room with no enemies, or sits on a chair, the Carabosse will sit on Miriam's shoulder after a short period of time.
• If the player sits at the piano in the Garden of Silence with Familiar: Carabosse active, Miriam will begin to play the Theme of Bloodstained and the Carabosse will sing its lyrics.
  • The achievement "Recital" will be unlocked after she finishes her song.
• The design, behavior and other aforementioned traits of this familiar are likely based on the Faerie Familiar from the Castlevania franchise; specifically from her appearance in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night:
  • The Faerie Familiar will automatically use restorative items on Alucard whenever he has low health or is afflicted by a status ailment.
  • Whenever Alucard approaches a breakable wall, ceiling or floor, the Faerie Familiar will quickly fly to its location and tell him there's something suspicious about it.
  • When Alucard sits on a chair with the Faerie Familiar active, she will sit on his shoulder after a while.
  • In certain versions of Symphony of the Night, the Faerie Familiar has the ability to sing a song when Alucard is sitting on a chair.
