A Dragon Bone is a material in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
Description[]
In the Hidden Desert, the local Living Fossil enemy has a 5% base chance to drop a Dragon Bone on defeat. Three of them can be immediately used to progress through the middle ranks of the Inferno Breath directional shard awarded by the Valac boss in Towers of Twin Dragons, increasing the coverage of the flames expelled.
A somewhat more difficult recipe involving Dragon Bones that nonetheless can be crafted immediately is the Dragon Shoes weapon, which requires two Wool dropped by the earlier Wolfmen in the Towers of Twin Dragons (and, conveniently, the Allocers in Hidden Desert), two Dragon Scales dropped by the Dragons found in upper Livre Ex Machina, and a Flame Ring that can be created out of a Ring and a Ruby. Creating this as soon as you reach the Hidden Desert would also require you to find Very Fine Equipment/R at a point in upper Dian Cécht Cathedral that might seem at first to require the Invert shard to reach, but can be reached "early" using Double Jump's dive kicks. Once you get a Demon Claw to drop from a Hellhound in Inferno Cave, you will become capable of "upgrading" a Dragon Shoes into a Hermes Shoes, which can eventually be upgraded into the legendary Hell's Knells by the Den of Behemoths late in the game.
The aforementioned Dragon can also drop the Draconic Rage conjure shard, and the coverage of the friendly Dragon it summons is increased as you rank it up. The final two ranks each take one Dragon Bone and one Dragon Heart, the latter material being a rare drop from its much larger Abyssal Guardian cousin that respawns in the Den of Behemoths.
Availability[]
Dragon Bones can only be obtained through one enemy: the Living Fossil, who have a 5% chance to drop it. They are located solely in the Hidden Desert; one is located two rooms to the left of the Desert's teleporter.
Usage[]
Like almost all materials, Dragon Bone is only useful for crafting via Johannes' Alchemy menu in Arvantville.
Dragon Bones are required for crafting:
- Dragon Shoes (x2 Dragon Bone, x2 Wool, x2 Dragon Scale, x1 Flame Ring)
Dragon Bones are also required for enhancing:
- Draconic Rage Ranks 8, 9 (x1 Dragon Bone, x1 Dragon Heart)
- Inferno Breath Ranks 5. 6, 7 (x1 Dragon Bone)
It takes at least 7 Dragon Bones to craft and enhance everything in the game, with all seven being base ingredients (so long as one uses the crafted Dragon Shoes to craft Hermes Shoes).
