Warp a short distance in the designated direction.

Dimension Shift is a Directional Shard in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. It allows its wielder to teleport a short distance in a designated direction. It also appears in Classic II: Dominique's Curse as a skill.

Description[]

The shard allows Miriam to teleport a brief distance to a point where she will move to, which is marked by a black hole with a white core in its center. She disappears and reappears at that spot in the process.

This shard costs 15 MP for every instance it is used.

The shard can be used to move beyond thin walls that would otherwise be impossible to move through by using normal means, as well as to dodge enemy attacks. It can be used as a partial replacement of the Reflector Ray, which likewise allows the player to fit through small crawlspaces, or simply to move across platforms and and walls in a room without having to jump and move around too much, although Dimension Shift cannot travel longer than its standard length (like the Reflector Ray can after it is enhanced).

Dimension Shift also has a few specific uses that can't be achieved through usage of any other shards. These include:

Unfortunately, due to being obtained near the end of the game, the usefulness of Dimension Shift ends up being very limited, despite its potential, as it is likely there won't be many more things to do in the game (depending on the areas explored by the player up to that point).

Availability[]

As with all progression-related Shards, it is removed from the player's inventory in New Game Plus.

Enhancements[]

Rank: Longer invincibility while warping.

Notes[]

  • This Shard can neither be sold nor can it be disposed of in any way, meaning it is mandatory to keep it for the rest of the game.
  • This Shard ignores Orlok Dracule's Standstill ability.
