The Descent to Wrath is a location in Classic II: Dominique's Curse. It features a cliff that overlooks a large lake, beyond which is the passage to the Malebolge Gateway. Under the cliff lies the entrance to the Clockwork Nightmare.

After reaching this area from the Stygian Marsh, Dominique will fight a few enemies as she approaches the cliff edge. Although it does not lead to an actual bottomless pit, jumping off the cliff will cause her to die, so she must instead descend it using stairs. After reaching the ground below, she can proceed left again, where she will find the entrance to Valefar's dungeon, the Clockwork Nightmare. She can also keep going right, where she will need to jump on platforms above an actual bottomless pit until she passes through a natural wall to reach the Malebolge Gateway, the foundation of the Pandemonium. A large lake can be seen in the background of the path to the latter area, but it has no bearing on gameplay.
During the New Moon, the enemies around the cliffside include fast-moving Mortes, Silver Wolfmen, Bats, and Lance Armors. Carabosses threaten to knock Dominique into the abyss on the way to the Malebolge Gateway. The Dead Moon removes the Silver Wolfmen but adds Bone Mortes and more Lance Armors. The Groundskeeper associated with the Clockwork Nightmare can be found near the cliff edge here during the New Moon, but he moves into the dungeon itself during the Dead Moon.
