The Demon Tail is a Material in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.

Description[]

The earliest point an Archdemon can be slain is in Hall of Termination over halfway through the game, and its Demon Tail is dropped only slightly more frequently than the already easy-to-drop Demon Fang.

The most relevant craftable items that make use of Demon Tails are grades of Regenerate passive shards. So long as you retain any number of the Healing manipulative shard dropped by the Sidhe in Underground Sorcery Lab, you unlock the privilege to convert one Demon Tail, one High Potion, and one Faerie Wing (also dropped by Sidhe) into a grade of Regenerate, which increases the amount of HP passively restored per tick. (Meanwhile, ranks increase the frequency of these ticks — and Potions, High Potions, and eventually Ex Potions are needed to increase its rank to Rank 9 so that the skill shard clone of it can be created and left on perpetually.)

Two Demon Tails are also needed to complete the final two ranks of the Summon Rat conjure shard, which is dropped by the early-game Giant Rat at Arvantville and uses only the Giant Rat's own dropped Rat Teeth and Rat Tails to enhance otherwise. Each rank increases the duration of the summoned friendly Giant Rat, as well as the number of smaller rats it explodes into.

Presuming you found Fine Equipment/R in Hall of Termination, you can create a Snakebite whip as a slightly weaker, Poison-capable alternative to the Black Cords whip that you also can only start crafting once you find the same recipe book. In addition to three Demon Tails, crafting a Snakebite takes a Dragon Scale (dropped by a Dragon at 8%), two Sinister Rags (dropped by Lerajes at 12%), and two Strange Leathers (dropped by Dantalions at 8%); all of these enemies are found throughout Livre Ex Machina. You will want to create at least two because the Whip Expertise shard dropped by the Lamashtu in Secret Sorcery Lab uses them as materials to advance through its final two ranks, and reaching Rank 9 in this manner will create the skill shard clone.

Finally, if you have the paid DLC "Succubus Cosmetic Pack" installed, the 30-ATK second version of the Scythe spear-like weapon can be upgraded into the 34-ATK third version using Demon Tails. Additional materials required are two Damascus (dropped by Lance Armor at 8% and Axe Outsider at 12%) and Walnut (dropped by Chair Mimic at 8% and found in blue chests in Livre Ex Machina and Underground Sorcery Lab).
