Bloodstained Wiki

A loathsome pelt taken from a demon.

The Demon Pelt is a Material in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.

Description[]

Despite being an enemy positioned as a mid-game monster by virtue of its high Level and placement in the list of demons in the Archives menu, the Gusion can be fought as early as the lower levels of Livre Ex Machina, before even fighting Andrealphus for its Double Jump skill shard. This makes its droppable Demon Pelt available much earlier than seemingly intended, and one mid-to-late-game-tier item becomes craftable much earlier as a result. By gathering two Sinister Rags from the Cyhyraeth, two Sinister Eyes from the Poison Toads in upper Towers of Twin Dragons, and the Very Fine Equipment/R recipe book from upper Dian Cécht Cathedral (which can be explored quite early by using Double Jump's dive-kick technique on purple lanterns set up to allow for sequence breaks), the especially defensive Hermit's Beret can be crafted before even fighting Valac in the Towers.

The Summon Simian shard, dropped by the Gusion's earlier Simian cousin in the Garden of Silence, can reach Rank 9 with the help of Demon Pelts, increasing the summoned creature's duration. The previous six rank advancements require a total of three Monster Furs (also dropped by the Simian) and three Sinister Pelts (dropped by the Wolfman in the Towers).

Every other project that uses up Demon Pelts can only be completed at much later stages of the game. The Kalasiris, which boosts both INT and LCK by a useful 5 points each, is another item unlocked by Very Fine Equipment/R, and it can be crafted as soon as the Hidden Desert is reached by using Silk dropped by the local Allocers (and a Water Horse Mane from the Glashtyn a little earlier).

In the Secret Sorcery Lab, the Lamashtu drops Whip Expertise and the Beast Killer whip that is used to advance it through its final two ranks; there is no reason to craft Beast Killer yourself because of this. Beast Killer, another Very Fine Equipment/R recipe, requires three Demon Pelts, three Queen's Tails dropped by the Lamashtu, and three Slimy Leathers dropped by the earlier Deeseama to craft.

Bixbite starts occuring in the Inferno Cave as either drops from the Fire Elemental (4%) or random rewards in the blue chests in the zone. That said, there is no value in crafting Majestic Plate using Bixbites and a Demon Pelt because the superior Flame Mail randomly drops from Volcano Mortes in the same zone, and a "free" Majestic Plate will be the reward for one of Abigail's final mourning quests (requiring a Diamond).

The final two projects in the core game that use up Demon Pelts become available in the Den of Behemoths near the end of the game. The Beast Guardian manipulative shard, dropped by the Wolfman and ranked up to 7 purely by the aforementioned Sinister Pelts, advances through its final two defense-range-increasing ranks using a total of two Demon Pelts and two Fiend Pelts, dropped by its larger Silver Wolfman cousin. Familiar: Buer, first dropped by the Triwheel Buer in upper Livre Ex Machina and later dropped by the Giant Buer in the Den, becomes a "more powerful familiar" as it ranks up, and its last two ranks take a total of two Demon Pelts and two Lion Lord's Manes (dropped by the Marbas in the Den).

If you have the paid DLC "Magical Girl Cosmetic Pack" installed, the final stage of the Miri Dress becomes realizable as early as Hidden Desert. Its fourth version can be upgraded to its fifth version using Silk from the aforementioned Allocers and the widely distributed midgame material Platinum, and it can reach its sixth and final version using three materials you would have already had access to earlier: two Demon Pelts, two Demon Hearts (dropped by Archdemons), and one Queen's Tears (dropped by Tamako-Death). It results in a body armor with amazingly high INT and MND values.
