~ Description from Ritual of the Night

The Demon Lord is an enemy in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.

Description[]

The Demon Lord physically resembles the Archdemon, including the green magic that shines off of him, but he has far more red hues along his body and has two smaller horns that appear on top of his head along with the longer horns shared by the other two. He shares all of the spells used by the Archdemon but can create more ice drops and fire pillars.

As his name suggests, the Demon Lord reigns supreme among all three types of classic winged demons, being far more powerful and resilient than the Demon and the Archdemon. He is a semi-common enemy encountered in the Glacial Tomb, the last area of the game.

He drops the valuable Fiend Heart, which is frequently used for advanced shard enhancing and crafting.

Notes[]

  • Lindsay's quest, "Avenge the death of Sypha!", requires the player to kill six Demon Lords. Demon Lords are mainly encountered in the Glacial Tomb; however, the Master Carpenter in the Oriental Sorcery Lab can spawn up to three of them during his boss fight. Only the first fight against this optional boss is mandatory to finish, afterward, the player can fight him again as many times as desired, wait until he summons other three Demon Lords, and leave the boss room. This way the player can complete Lindsay's quest earlier and be awarded one Bixbite.
  • The Demon Lord is one of the lesser enemies in the game that gives the most EXP, giving 1,779 EXP per kill. The player can greatly increase this amount by equipping gear and consuming foods that increase EXP Gain (e.g.: wearing two Weighted Rings, carrying the Tactician's Tome, etc.), allowing them to greatly level up in a short time (even up to Level 99).

Trivia[]

  • The design and attack patterns of this enemy are likely based on the Demon Lord from the Castlevania franchise.
