The Demon Fang is a Material in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
Description[]
Archdemons start crossing the player's path in the Hall of Termination and appear in the later regions of the Forbidden Underground Waterway. They drop Demon Fangs at a 10% base rate, which is preferable to the 8% base rate of the single Rocky that appears in one room in the Hidden Desert. Finally, the Giant Bats that fly from the ceilings in the Den of Behemoths near the end of the game drop Demon Fangs at an even better 12% base rate.
When Demon Fangs can first be found via the Archdemon in the Hall of Termination, you can immediately use two of them to provide the final two ranks to the Summon Bat conjure shard dropped by the basic Bat, which adds to the size, number, and duration of the bats summoned. Oddly enough, the Release Toad directional shard that can be dropped by the Toad as soon as the Garden of Silence is first reached can only start having ranks applied to it at this point in time because its first three ranks require Demon Fangs. The hopping toad that is summoned increases in size as you apply ranks to the shard, and the middle three ranks take Toad Hearts dropped much earlier by the Toad itself.
Another toad-themed shard that involves the Demon Fang is Summon Water Leaper, dropped by the Water Leaper that is first encountered once you use Blood Steal to progress from the Entrance into the west portion of the Forbidden Underground Waterway. Each of its middle ranks takes one Demon Fang and one Toad Webbing (dropped by the Water Leaper itself) and increases the size of the Water Leaper summoned to deal an attack in a rising arc. (Toad Webbing incidentally allows for the Release Toad shard to reach Rank 9 as well.)
When it comes to crafted items, Demon Fangs can be used in a recipe unlocked by the Fine Equipment/R recipe book that is also found in the Hall of Termination, one that creates the Spiked Breastplate. While it takes four Demon Fangs to craft, the fact the only other materials are two units of Platinum (found easily in blue chests in the Hall and subsequent zones) means you can craft it much earlier than the Secret Sorcery Lab, where a free Spiked Breastplate can be found in a chest. This craft is well worth the expenditure if you are interested in the relative perks of the Spiked Breastplate (revisiting earlier zones while wearing this lets you kill extremely weak enemies just by touching them, and purple lanterns automatically break without requiring a weapon swing).
Another recipe unlocked by Fine Equipment/R is that of the Hofud, a sword you would have to craft several copies of if you intend to build up to legendary weapons like Ridill, Blue Rose, and Hell's Knells, as well as a max-rank Sword Expertise shard. The most difficult materials to procure for the sake of crafting a Hofud are the two required pieces of Gold material primarily found in the many blue chests strewn throughout the Hidden Desert. If you are crafting everything in the game for the sake of it and are not relying on the established methods of quickly amassing money to buy duplicates of crafted weapons, you would have to amass a large number of Demon Fangs to craft all the Hofuds necessary.
