A monster that hails from the aphotic reaches of the ocean.
~ Description from Ritual of the Night

Deeseama is an enemy in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.

Description[]

The Deeseama is an advanced version of the normal Seama, but which is exclusively found in underwater areas. It initially swims around following a pattern, but when it detects the player, it arranges its tentacles in a pointed shape and then propels itself toward them (possibly by expelling water at great pressure from behind), accordingly changing directions for a short period of time as they move around.

The areas where Deeseamas are found can only be reached after defeating Bloodless and obtaining her Blood Steal shard to drain the blood fountain at the Entrance, which gives access to an alternate entrance to the Forbidden Underground Waterway.

The Deeseama has a few unique drops that are used for preparation of a couple of rare Foods, as well as to enhance many water related shards; but most importantly, it drops the Aqua Stream shard, which is mandatory to acquire in order to obtain the best ending of the game. Equipping Aqua Stream allows the player to explore the underwater sections of the Forbidden Underground Waterway and eventually find the entrance to the Hidden Desert to further progress the story.

Killing 8 Deeseamas is the requirement to complete Lindsay's "Avenge the death of Martha!" quest, which rewards the very useful Speed Belt, an Accessory that increases the walking speed of the player when equipped, thus making exploration and combat more versatile. It is possible that the high number of Deeseamas required to fulfill this quest, as well as the high rate of the drop (10.00%), may be hints on the importance of obtaining their Aqua Stream shard.
