~ Description from Ritual of the Night |
Deathtrap is an enemy in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
Description[]
A stronger version of the Mimic but in a light green tone with golden frames. The Deathtrap is only and rarely found in advanced areas, like the Inferno Cave and the Oriental Sorcery Lab. Like its lower version counterpart, it poses as a treasure chest to lure unsuspecting prey toward it. When approached, the chest opens and reveals a predatory bug-like monster that attacks by performing quick rushes at the enemy. Making contact with it curses the player.
It is well worth farming this enemy, though, as it drops the valuable Augment LCK shard, which due to the heavy grinding nature of Ritual of the Night, becomes especially useful when farming other items and shards. Additionally, it drops very valuable materials, like the Mahogany and the Cypress, which in addition to their normal crafting uses, can be sold for big profit.
Classic II: Dominique's Curse features Deathtraps that serve as helpful Merchants in towns. Unlike most other "civilized" demons in their surroundings, they do not turn hostile during the Dead Moon but simply vanish. Three of said Merchants can be found respectively at the River of Woe, when the New Moon redirects the portal found there to the merchant's cave, at Golgotha, after the Fancy Bag hidden at the Malebolge Gateway has been found, and lastly at the ruined town of Lemegeton. These three merchants ask Dominique to give up one of her collected extra weapons and some coins in exchange for a more powerful one; after the purchase has been done, the lost item can then be bought back from them for some extra coins.
