A demon with a chilling death cry.
~ Description from Ritual of the Night

Cyhyraeth is an enemy in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night and Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon.

Description[]

Cyhyraeth's appearance mimics a humanoid female from the torso down. The neck, however, is much longer than that of a human's, and appears to have the esophagus exposed all the way down to her chest. Her face is also elongated, with small, red eyes, and a gaping mouth with a teeth surrounding all sides in groups of three. She appears ethereal, with gray skin and green hair.

It is easy to tell when a Cyhyraeth is nearby due to her loud moans and wails. Once the player approaches, the Cyhyraeth will begin to float around them. She mainly has one dedicated attack, which appears to be a grab that may inflict Curse status upon touching the player. She can also let out the Death Cry attack her shard is named for.

Her larger size and floating nature means it can often easily damage the player by just moving toward them. When attacked, she tends to quickly move out of the way and move over the player to position herself behind them.

She drops the valuable Cursed Ring, a stackable accessory that greatly boosts most of the player's stats while heavily reducing Luck.

In Aurora's campaign, one Cyhyraeth is revealed to be Gen who has been transformed by a curse.

Notes[]

  • Dealing the finishing blow to Cyhyraeth with shard abilities apparently does not count as a 'kill' and the enemy's entry won't be registered in the "Demons" archives' section. It has to be defeated with a physical attack.

Trivia[]

  • Cyhyraeth is a ghostly spirit in Welsh mythology. It is similar to a banshee, as it moans and wails to signal the death of those who hear it.
