Curse the Moon (alternatively, Cleave the Moon) is the eight and "final" stage in Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon.
Overview[]
This elegant hall is located on the top floor of the castle. Zangetsu and his party are now at the heart of darkness that Gremory had perpetrated. This wing consists of a gallery where the occasional life-sized angelic statue is spotted and a cathedral full of enormous stained glass masterpieces. Swarms of buzzing bugs created by Gremory will fly through a variety of rooms from time to time to hinder the party's progress. They can only be evaded by moving away from the path it's heading or using Alfred's fire spells to gain temporary invincibility when navigating through it directly. On the other hand, two sections that involve moving up and downstairs respectively is when the swarms are entirely unavoidable if nobody is able to move quickly enough. While navigating through the stage outdoors, one will notice that the moon is full. It foreshadows the imminent role it will play when Gremory is inevitably encountered. At the end of the hall in the castle's highest room, she will finally emerge from the stained glass windows above and challenge our heroes.

Trivia[]
- The name of this stage is determined by whether or not Zangetsu recruited any allies with him, and not whether he ignored or killed them if he is alone. The name is "Curse the Moon" if he has even one ally, and "Cleave the Moon" if he is alone.
- Furthermore, Gremory's second form uses a Desperation attack when defeated by Zangetsu alone, whereas she does not if Zangetsu has an ally with him. To avoid it, Zangetsu must use a stronger variant of his charge attack (regardless of whether you are playing Ultimate Mode, which is the only way he can use it normally) to finish Gremory off, by cleaving her in two (hence the different stage name) when it is fully charged.
