Chains of Fire, called Blood Hotter than Flame in Episode 2 and Unstoppable Force in Episode EX, is the fifth stage in Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2.
Overview[]
This stage takes Zangetsu and his companions though an active volcano, ending in a battle with the stage's boss, Lavamandra. The lava in this level does not immediately kill the characters, but it does deal significant damage, and Hachi's Iron Ability does not protect him from it.
There are two powerups in this stage. The first is found by following the normal route, and is only accessible to Dominique, Hachi, or Gebel. It is on a raised platform near the end of the stage. The second powerup, a Health Upgrade, requires Alfred's Fostcaliber spell. By using Frostcaliber on the first lava waterfall, Alfed freezes the lava, allowing it to be chipped away to reveal a staircase, starting an alternate route through the stage. Near the end of the route, the Health Upgrade is on a higher platform that only Miriam and Gebel can reach.
