The Curry & Rice is a Food item in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
Availability[]
Curry & Rice is prepared through Johannes' alchemy menu in Arvantville, requiring Curry Sauce ×1 and Rice ×1 and also requiring Curry Dish/R to have been collected off the top northwest corner of the waterfall room in Forbidden Underground Waterway (requires Double Jump to clear the gap from right to left). After Curry & Rice is first prepared, it will be sold at Dominique's supply post for 600G.
Rice is grown by Harry out of a planted Rice Seed. The "only other" ingredient, the Curry Sauce, is crafted out of four ingredients of its own: Moco Leek ×1 and 1 Moco Oil ×1, both of which are commonly dropped by Moco Weed early in the Garden of Silence; 1 Halite bought for super-cheap at the store; and most significantly, Curry Powder ×1. This is dropped by Ordog in the lower, earlier portion of Dian Cécht Cathedral (right next to the warp room), though it drops at a rather rare 3% base chase (to improve the drop rate, try collecting the first Plunderer's Ring at Galleon Minerva once you get Double Jump, a skill shard you will need anyway to get the Curry Dish recipe book).
When you get Double Jump and are first able to collect Curry/R in the room adjacent to the top edge of the waterfall room, the other green chest just in front of it contains a free Curry Powder. Curry Powder can more easily be found as random rewards in blue chests in the Underground Sorcery Lab halfway through the game and in Inferno Cave about 75% through the game.
Usage[]
Curry & Rice is a food consumable, restoring 150 HP whenever used and giving a permanent bonus of +40 Max HP when first eaten. It costs and restores precisely as much as an item priced at the exact midpoint between the 200G Potion and the 1000G High Potion would be expected to, and because it is a meal, up to 99 of it can be carried at a time.
Curry & Rice is one of three similar meals unlocked all at once by Curry Dish/R that can be crafted as soon as you can collect that recipe book with the help of Double Jump (a shard collected in early Livre Ex Machina about one third through the campaign). All three meals add a hefty +40-50 HP, and the other two — Pork Curry and Chicken Curry — additionally add +8 to CON and MND, respectively. Since all of them are dependent on crafting Curry Sauce as an intermediary ingredient that takes a rare Curry Powder drop (which doesn't become easy to find until you get to Underground Sorcery Lab), you can forego farming the Ordog for the powder by using the free Curry Powder gotten from the chest next to the Curry Dish/R chest to craft one Curry Sauce and add that to the shop, then buy two more at 500G each. Miriam can amass +140 Max HP, +8 CON, and +8 MND easily through crafting these three meals from the three Curry Sauces she will now have, making it easier for her to survive all the content that follows getting the Double Jump.
Curry & Rice is also required for Susie's seventh quest, "Something Spicy", which rewards you with a Berdiche. It is even a material used in the following shard enhancement:
- Shadow Tracer Ranks 8, 9 (Curry & Rice ×1)
