Curry and rice made with chicken that has soaked up the flavor.

The Chicken Curry is a Food item in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.

Availability[]

Chicken Curry is prepared through Johannes' alchemy menu in Arvantville, requiring Curry Sauce ×1, Rice ×1, and G-Bone Steak ×3 as well as Curry Dish/R, which can be found at the top northwest corner of the waterfall room in Forbidden Underground Waterway (requires Double Jump to clear the gap from right to left). After Chicken Curry is first prepared, it will be sold at Dominique's supply post for 1,100G.

G-Bone Steaks are dropped with a 5% probability from Celaeno and Ocypete that start being found in the part of Towers of Twin Dragons where Double Jump is needed to explore. Rice is grown with Harry using a planted Rice Seed. The "main" ingredient, the Curry Sauce, is crafted out of four ingredients of its own: Moco Leek ×1 and Moco Oil ×1, both of which are commonly dropped by Moco Weed early in the Garden of Silence; Halite ×1 bought for super-cheap at the store; and most significantly, Curry Powder ×1. This is dropped by Ordog in the lower, earlier portion of Dian Cécht Cathedral (right next to the warp room), though it drops at a rather rare 3% base chase (to improve the drop rate, you can collect the first Plunderer's Ring at Galleon Minerva once you get Double Jump, a skill shard you will need anyway to get the Curry Dish recipe book).

When you get Double Jump and are first able to collect Curry/R in the room adjacent to the top edge of the waterfall room, the other green chest just in front of it contains a free Curry Powder. Curry Powder can more easily be found as random rewards in blue chests in the Underground Sorcery Lab halfway through the game and in Inferno Cave about 75% through the game.

Usage[]

Chicken Curry is a food consumable, restoring 275 HP whenever used and giving a permanent bonus of +50 Max HP and a surprisingly high +8 MND when first eaten. It costs and restores 10% more than the High Potion, and because it is a meal, up to 99 of it can be carried at a time.

Chicken Curry is one of three similar meals (the others being Curry & Rice and Pork Curry) unlocked all at once by Curry Dish/R that can be crafted as soon as you can collect that recipe book with the help of Double Jump (a shard collected in early Livre Ex Machina about one third through the campaign). All three meals add a hefty +40-50 HP, and in addition to the Chicken Curry's own +8 MND boost, the Pork Curry adds +8 CON. Since all of them are dependent on crafting Curry Sauce as an intermediary ingredient that takes a rare Curry Powder drop that doesn't become easy to find until Underground Sorcery Lab, you can forego farming the Ordog for the powder by using the free Curry Powder gotten from the chest next to the Curry Dish/R chest to craft one Curry Sauce and add that to the shop, then buy two more at 500G each. Miriam can amass +140 Max HP, +8 CON, and +8 MND easily though crafting these three meals from the three Curry Sauces she will now have, making it easier for her to survive all the content that follows getting the Double Jump.
